Charge

The CC:DA/MARBI Program Planning Committee for Annual 2003 is charged with developing and publicizing a program on the role of Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records in cataloging for the 2003 ALA Annual Conference in Toronto. The proposed program is intended to acquaint technical services professionals with the implications of the FRBR model for cataloging rules, MARC formats and other emerging international standards for electronic technologies. The Committee will follow ALCTS’s guidelines and deadlines in ”How to Plan an ALCTS Program.”

The CC:DA/MARBI Preconference Planning Committee for Annual 2004 (formerly the Program Planning Committee for 2003) is charged with developing and publicizing a preconference on the role of Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records in cataloging for the 2004 ALA Annual Conference in Orlando. The proposed preconference is intended to acquaint technical services professionals with the FRBR entity-relationship model and its impact on the cataloging rules, the catalog, MARC formats and other emerging international standards for electronic technologies.
