Joint Meeting with the SAC at 10:30 am
Agenda of the CC:DA Meetings in New Orleans, LA
The Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access will meet twice during the ALA Annual Conference, New Orleans, LA.
On Sat., June 26, 1:30-5:30 p.m., the main agenda items include the report from the Representative of the Library of Congress, the Report of the ALA Representative to the Joint Steering Committee, the revised AALL Proposal on places in certain federations, a report from the RDA Training Task Force and the RDA Programming Task Force, and a report from the three CC:DA Task Forces on:
- RDA Instructions for Heads of State and Heads of Government
- RDA Instructions for Governmental and Non-Governmental Corporate Bodies
- Machine-Actionable Data Elements in RDA Chapter 3
On Monday, June 27, 10:00 p.m, CC:DA will hear reports from the Executive Director of ALA Publishing Services, MARBI Representative, RDA revision proposals from the MLA Representative, and a report from the Webmaster.
CC:DA will hold a joint meeting with the Subject Analysis Committee from 10:30-12:00, co-sponsored by ALA, Cataloging & Classification Quarterly, and MARCIVE, Inc. Gordon Dunsire will describe the treatment of subject in each of the Functional Requirements models and efforts to reconcile them in the Registry, followed by general discussion of the LC Discussion paper on Group 3 entity chapters in RDA.
