The Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access will meet during the ALA Midwinter Meeting in San Diego, CA. The Committee hopes to complete its agenda on Saturday afternoon, January 8, 2011, from 1:30-5:30 PM. If necessary, any unfinished discussions will continue on Monday morning, January 10 at 8:00 AM.

Now that RDA: Resource Description and Access has been published, CC:DA is beginning to consider proposals for revision of RDA. Two task forces have been formed. One deals with RDA Instructions for Heads of State and Heads of Government; the other, with RDA Instructions for Governmental and Non-Governmental Corporate Bodies. Both of these task forces will present preliminary oral reports. In addition, the American Association of Law Libraries has presented two revision proposals (on RDA 16.2.2.9, Places in certain federations and on RDA 6.29.1.21, Reports of one court) which will be discussed.

CC:DA will also hear reports from the Library of Congress Representative, the ALA Representative to the Joint Steering Committee, the ALCTS/CCS Task Forces on RDA Training and RDA Programming, the MARBI Representative, the LITA representative, the CC:DA Webmaster, and from Troy Linker of ALA Publishing Services.
