CC:DA Activities at the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, DC
The Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access will meet twice at ALA Annual 2010.
On Sat., June 26, 1:00-5:30 p.m., the main agenda items include
the report from the Representative of the Library of Congress,
the Report of the ALA Representative to the Joint Steering Committee,
the report on PCC activities, a report from the RDA Training Task Force and the RDA Programming Task Force,
and a report from the CC:DA Task Force to to review ISBD: International Standard Bibliographic Description -- 2010 consolidated edition.
The LC report will include discussion about the Greek Romanization Table and a Draft Procedure for Romanization Proposals.
On Monday, June 28, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m, CC:DA will hear the
presentation From Moby-Dick To Mash-Ups: Thinking About Bibliographic
Networks as well as reports from the Executive Director of ALA Publishing Services,
and the Report of the MARBI Representative.
During the break on Monday morning, there will be a celebration of the successful launch
of the RDA Toolkit and RDA: Resource Description and Access.

The Subject Analysis Committee will be meeting twice at ALA Annual in DC
On Sunday June 27, 8 am – 11 am, in the HYATT-Regency A, we will have reports from: the Sears List of Subject Headings, Library of Congress's Policy and Standards Division, the Dewey Decimal Classification, the Music Library Association, the Art Library Association, and an update from the American Association of Law Libraries.
On Monday, June 28, 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm, in the HYATT–Yorktown/Valley Forge, we will have reports from: MARBI, the SAC Subcommittee on Genre/Form Implementation, the SAC Subcommittee on FAST, OCLC's FAST project, IFLA Classification and Indexing Section, and the SACO-at-Large meeting. We will also have an update on a joint project with LC's PSD on free-floating subdivisions, discussions of new business, an open discussion period, and announcements.
In addition, on Monday we will have a special presentation on IFLA's Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Data by Marcia Zeng of Kent State University to review the basics of the model and to discuss the latest developments on FRSAD. The FRSAD presentation is planned for 3:30 to 4:30 on Monday.
