On Sat., January 12, 1:00-6:00 p.m., the main agenda item will be the report of the ALA Representative to the Joint Steering Committee, who will present his report on the October 2007 JSC meeting; that item will be followed by the report of the Library of Congress Representative. Later CC:DA will hear reports from Cindy Hepfer, ALA Representative to NISO, and Shawne Miksa, Chair of the RDA Implementation Task Force. The last items of the day will be discussions of the Report of the Task Force on Specialist Cataloguing Manuals and proposed revisions to CC:DA Procedures.

In addition to these reports, there is time on the agenda for the ALA Representative to the Joint Steering Committee to report on any additional issues not covered on Saturday.
For those primarily interested in an update on the progress of RDA, an RDA Update Forum will be held Sunday, January 13, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Philadelphia Convention Center, Lecture Hall. John Attig, ALA Representative to the Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA, will provide an update on the status of RDA.

New Task Force Appointed
The Task Force on Specialist Cataloguing Manuals
was appointed in August 2007.
It is charged to prepare the content for a list of specialist cataloguing manuals and other cataloguing tools.
ALA was asked to prepare this list by the Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA;
their intent is to post the list as a wiki on the RDA Online website, as an adjunct resource
for use with RDA: Resource Description and Access.
The Task Force will present its report at the 2008 Midwinter Meeting.
CC:DA Public, Read-Only Email Discussion List
CC:DA announces a public, read-only email discussion list to allow non-CC:DA members to view committee work that
takes place between the ALA Annual Conference and ALA Midwinter Meeting.
In order for the committee to do its work efficiently, non-CC:DA members will be able read CC:DA email, but will
not be able to post messages. However, ideas and comments on discussions are welcome, and can be funneled to the list through
your CC:DA representative or liaison via the committee roster.
To subscribe to the list, send an email to sympa@ala.org with the phrase
"subscribe rules" in the subject line and the body of the message blank. Your email address will be captured automatically.
To unsubscribe (i.e., remove your email address) from the Rules list, send an email to:
sympa@ala.org with "unsubscribe rules" in the subject line and leaving the body of the
message blank. Your email address will be matched from the header of the message so you must use the address from which
